This girl helps the people through their own fear scape and she is the only one that has been able to do it. These creatures are killing you from the inside out. Vours are the one that trap your real self in your fear scape and you have to face all of your fears to stay alive. Well, Reggie has to live with people who souls are becoming taken over by the creatures call vours. Fear scapes are where all your fears go and hide in your soul. Her job is unspeakable, unexplainable, and just plain out scary. She has a job to do and the job is no ordinary job. Reggie is one of the main characters along with her little brother and several more. Not hers or the story character and that’s what is most exciting. You play through the book with you own eyes. It’s like the book comes to life in your mind, Simon Holt makes you the character. I could hardly put the book down, and when I actually did is when I got a little nervous or almost scared. Overall, I like this series and will probably read the last book when I can get my hands on it.Soulstice is a mystery, it’s scary, and horrifying at times. I still like the characters But Reggie was kind of annoying in this book.

I think the way the Vours operate is interesting. Holt has a great way of showing the fear that these characters have been living in. I also like the way the fearscapes are described. The ending was a cliffhanger that will lead to interesting finale to the series. On the other hand, there were a few things that were surprising. Of course there wasn't any build up but parts of it felt repetitive. I also felt like this book largely followed the same plot line as the last one. Since she learned to overcome her fear and destroyed a Vour to save Henry. Since Reggie first discovered the existence of the Vours in a tattered journal. I would have rather learned more about the Vours and how their world operated. I guess you could argue that it was to emphasize Reggie's ability but I think that was done enough.

I mean I liked it but it felt like a big part of the plot wasn't really necessary and once it was over it wasn't mentioned for the rest of the book. Now as the summer solstice approaches, the Vours still haunt Reggie, but only in her dreams- until one night, when an unexpected visitor turns her nightmares into reality.
